5/30 Heart2Heart Challenge - Stamp your own background

The challenge this week was to stamp your own background. I created this card in honor of Memorial Day and all the heroes and loved ones who have worked so hard to give us the freedom and opportunities we enjoy.

Here are a couple photos of this card's creation:
First the random stamping in Outdoor denim and Indian corn blue ink
Then I used a technique called "ghosting" sponging white ink around an shape, to create a negative image.

Finally the card assembled.

5/13 Heart 2 Heart Challenge - Technique

The challenge this week was a technique challenge - use any technique you want!

So.... I decided to try a new technique called Wrinkle-Free Distress. It's pretty easy and gives amazing results. Basically you swipe 3 colors of ink on a non-stick surface, mist with water and lay your cardstock in the ink. Use a craft heater to dry, then reapply and dry etc. until you have a look you like. It reminds me of easter eggs, water colors, and marbling.
I got the instructions from split coast stampers.

5/12 Happy Mother's Day!

Here's a sample of the tri-fold shutter cards I made for mother's day. They were so fun to make, and I hope were enjoyed by the Mom's who received them. They are all pretty special people. Hope you had a Happy Mother's Day!

4/27 May's Crafty Club Project - Recipe Box

This is our crafty club project for May. An adorable recipe box! This box is also great for storing photos, scrapbook tools, treats, cards or really whatever you want.

4/20 Heart 2 Heart Challenge #3

Here is my entry for the challenge this week. I made this little box for my Mom for Mother's Day. I'm planning to fill it with a delicious treat. I hope she likes it!

I changed the design up a little bit by making it 3D and adjusting the position of the circle and little rectangular box. I used Juniper Cardstock, Veranda papers, So Sweet stamp set, sorbet ribbon, pewter mini-medley, Dimensional Elements On Target circle, and some vellum. The box is a design from splitcoaststampers.com - Gable Box.

4/15 Heart 2 Heart Challenge #2

Here's my entry for the h2h challenge this week.

This is a 1/2/3 challenge. Here are the requirements:

*Use 1 stamped image (not 1 set, but 1 image)
*Use 2 different patterned papers
*Use 3 embellishments - these can be 3 of the same thing or 3 different things


I used the new passages papers, textured cocoa cardstock, brad from pewter mini-medley, pewter brads, and an antique copper hinge. (ok I know I used 1 extra brad. Can't help it.)
All the edges are sponged in cocoa ink. This pattern is from wishes, it's actually one of the workshop cards.

4/14 You Rock!

We will complete these two layouts in class. I'm so excited for this fun paper pack, because it works well for both boys and girls. I love it for parties, 4th of July, space field trips or just for fun. The stars and colors are really bright and busy.

Recipe:
I used chocolate, sunflower and sweet leaf cardstock, papers from caprice and tinkerin, stamps: Spot On backgrounds, For Every Occasion, Playful Petals, Across the board rubons, sweet leaf corduroy brad from connections club pack, colonial white bitty brads.
Squares are 2x2 and 1.5x1.5, center square is sweet leaf. Card is 6x6.

4/5 April Crafty Club - Flip Flap Photobook

Here is our club project for April. This cute flip-flap book has space for 10 4x6 photos plus another on the front. It's very easy to put together and makes a great gift for mom's, grandma's, or to remember a special event/vacation.
Crafty Club will meet Friday April 16th at 6:30 p.m.
It's only $10, but you can earn this class for FREE with a $25 order.

3/9/2010 Oodles and Oodles of Caboodle!

These are club projects for April, using the new CTMH Caboodle Paper pack.
This layout was CASE'd (Copy and Steal Exactly) from Melanie Mcbride. I couldn't pass it up, especially with all those adorable boots and chicks! It might be hard to see in the photo, but the letters and journaling box have liquid glass on the rain drops and the boot soles and tops too - They are shiny and look amazing!
This layout was inspired by Ilona Campinha. I added the chipboard, buttons and fun edge distressing. This will be one of the techniques we learn in class.
Finally, the requisite Easter layout. These colors just screamed spring, so here ya go! I love the little tiny tabs to add interest, even in the flower middles. See the chipboard frame? Pretty cute and fun to do.

March Crafty Club!

This is our club project for March. We will meet Friday March 19th at 6:30 to make this adorable wipe-off calendar! It's even cuter in person. :) Come check it out!

March Scrapbooking - Topstitch

Can you believe I actually stitched on this layout? If you know me, you know I hate to sew. I used a blanket stitch around the frame for the big picture and I think it turned out so cute! I guess if it's sewing on paper I can handle it....
This layout was inspired by Katie Kerttula (my cute sis!) I changed it up a little by adding the stamping around the frames, the edge anchors and ribbon and suede pinwheels with the adorable button stickers from the Topstitch Stickease pack.
